Important: Women will have a separate building from men during WWE events.
You will need to bring your own towels, toiletries, hairdryer, and any personal comforts (such as a favorite pillow or blanket for cool evenings).
Can I request to room with a friend or relative?
Yes! We can accommodate roommate requests, but we also encourage you to embrace the full WWE experience. Rooming with new women from different backgrounds can enhance your experience and lead to lasting friendships.
Can I stay in town or bring my RV?
No. All participants are required to stay on-site in Competitor Housing to enhance camaraderie, strengthen the program experience, and build lifelong friendships.
Can I bring my husband, kids, or dog?
No. While we love families and pets, WWE is designed as an all-women’s escape—a chance to focus on learning firearm and archery fundamentals without distractions. (An exception is made for service dogs). If you have a service dog, you must contact us for arrangements.
Is there an itinerary?
A sample itinerary from last year is available to give you an idea of a typical day. Expect full days of classes and activities from early morning to evening. A more detailed schedule will be provided closer to the event.
What if I've never fired a firearm before?
No experience? No problem! WWE is designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced shooters.
You'll receive instruction in multiple disciplines, including:
Our expert instructors will ensure you feel comfortable, safe, and confident while learning at your own pace.
Can I bring my own firearms to use?
No. Firearms and ammunition for the training purposes of the program will be provided for you.
Can I bring my conceal carry firearm?
You cannot carry a personal firearm on you during the program. However, you can travel with one and secure it in a lockbox in your room or vehicle. Check all state and travel laws for concealed carry.
What should I pack to wear?
Weather can change quickly, so pack in layers. Recommended clothing includes:
✔ Long-sleeve shirts
✔ Comfortable jeans or leggings
✔ Closed-toe shoes (required for the range)
✔ Hiking/walking shoes
✔ Warm coat & windbreaker
✔ Hat (beanie and/or ball cap)
✔ Base layers for cooler mornings
Prohibited on the range: Open-toe shoes and low-cut tops.
I have special dietary needs. Should I bring my own food?
Please submit all special dietary requests in advance so our Food Service Director can accommodate you within reason. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks if you have specific preferences.
Will I have time to go shopping?
Due to the full schedule of classes and shooting activities, there’s little downtime.
The nearest town, Raton, NM (10 miles away), has limited shopping and no malls, with most stores closing in the early evening.
However, our on-site Pro Shop/Gift Shop is open:
You'll have the opportunity to visit the shop during your stay to purchase souvenirs and gear.
