TITLE: Program Manager - Located in Raton, New Mexico

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Program Department Manager reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of events and range use at the NRA Whittington Center. Additionally, the Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the Program Department staff, volunteers, and instructors. The successful candidate must have knowledge of and support the objectives and mission of the NRA Whittington Center. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversees and directs Program Department staff, volunteers, and instructors.
  • Provide support to events in a professional , helpful manner.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and carryout events, during peak season there will often times be multiple events in the same timeframe.
  • Develop, maintain and update the Master Calendar of events.
  • Experience in leading and developing staff and volunteers by applying professional human resources management practices.
  • Ability to accurately utilize various computer systems and programs to track events, schedule lodging and other resources, creating invoices, etc.
  • Knowledge of shooting sports disciplines and other activities. The NRA Whittington Center is one of the most comprehensive shooting facilities in the world, as such NRAWC is often approached to potentially utilize its facilities to hold events.
  • NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) certification is preferred, or must be obtained within 90 days of accepting the position.

 

Compensation

The NRA Whittington Center offers a comprehensive a compensation package commensurate with experience.

We are a full-service shooting facility dedicated to the advancement of the shooting sports. This position requires a high level of customer service, organization, oral, written, computer, and interpersonal skills. A professional image, presentation, and work ethic are mandatory to assure success in this position. A flexible work schedule, including weekend work may be required. Position requires the lifting and carrying of items not to exceed 65 lbs. Position functions in a fast-paced work environment with minimal direct supervision. Occasional local, regional, and national travel representing the NRAWC is required.  

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: College degree, or equivalent relevant experience is required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Proven ability to interface effectively with all levels of individuals. Proven ability to monitor maintain  established budget. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro, Excel required, coupled with willingness to learn other software packages will be essential. Creative thinker and self-starter with excellent organizational skills essential. Proven ability to work independently or as a member of a team required while prioritizing tasks in a time sensitive dead-line driven environment.
