The Shotgun Program Coordinator reports to the Program Director and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the shotgun department, overseeing all shotgun events and activities. The position is responsible for the consistent achievement of the NRA Whittington Centers mission and financial objectives. We are a full-service shooting facility dedicated to the advancement of the shooting sports. This position requires a high level of customer service, organization, oral, written and interpersonal skills. A professional image, presentation, appearance and work ethic are mandatory to assure success in this position.
The Shotgun Event Coordinator reports to the Program Director and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the shotgun department, overseeing all shotgun events and activities. Knowledge of the objectives and mission of the NRA Whittington Center
Knowledge and familiarity of multiple shotgun disciplines: Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, 5-Stand, and a working understanding of other shotgun disciplines
Comprehensive understanding of revenue generation and cost accounting
Ability to plan and carryout shoots, solicit and secure sponsors for shoots / events
Greet casual shooters, provide outstanding customer service, sell targets, ammunition, etc. and maintain accurate records of all sales transactions
Basic knowledge/operation of hand tools and power tools
Basic mechanical and repair skills
Mechanical and Electrical trouble shooting and repair skills
Knowledge of Atlas, Pat, Promatic and Beomat machines
Professional problem-solving skills, working under limited supervision.
Meets tight deadlines, under pressure. Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to changing priorities in a professional manner.
Experience in leading and developing staff and volunteers by applying professional human resources management practices.
Serve as a delegate / Center representative to Local, State and National sanctioning bodies, and the public at-large promoting the NRA Whittington Center.
Knowledge of other shooting sports besides Shotgun. The NRA Whittington Center is the most comprehensive shooting facility in the world, the successful candidate will be required to assist the Program Department with non-shotgun events
NRA Instructor Certification in Shotgun is required
Familiarity with various youth shotgun programs: Whittington Center Adventure Camp, Boy Scouts, SCTP, YHEC, AIM, 4-H, etc.
Ability to lift/push/pull 65 lbs. on a regular basis.
The NRA Whittington Center offers a comprehensive a compensation package commensurate with experience.
This is an exempt position requiring hours of work that extend beyond the traditional work hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends that meet the demands of the seasonal nature of this position.
This position is located at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico.
