How do I make reservations?
NRA Whittington Center reservations may be made by calling 1-800-494-4853 or 575-445-3615. A credit or debit card is needed. A deposit for your first night is required, fully refundable if cancelled no later than 48 hours before start date.
How do I make group reservations?
Group reservations for four or more rooms require a 50% deposit of the full amount. They may be made by calling 1-800-494-4853 or 575-445-3615. Any person or group reserving a block of rooms must provide full names and contact information (including email) for the actual persons staying in, and financially responsible for, each room or campsite not later than ten (10) days prior to reservations start date, or they will be canceled and made available to other guests.
How to I book a venue for an event?
The NRA Whittington Center is a host facility. We host many events year round including, training events, competitions, corporate events and retreats, media events, weddings, reunions, national and international events, and so much more! For more information on booking a venue space or location please contact our Program Department at calling 1-800-494-4853 or 575-445-3615.
What are the Check-in and Check-out times?
Check-in is at 3:00 PM MST; check-out time is 10:00 AM MST. Fees will apply for late checkout unless specifically approved by staff in advance. Please be courteous and abide by our check-in and check-out times so our staff can get rooms cleaned in a timely manner for new guests.
What is included in my Cabin? Do I need to bring anything?
We have several different types of lodging. Please visit our Lodging, Cabins & Camping page to find your specific type of lodging and read more details there. Sheets, blankets and pillows are included with all lodging, although Log Cabin guests sometimes prefer to bring their own sleeping bags. No toiletries such as towels, washcloths or soap are provided in any of the lodging, with exception of the Brownell Suites and our Legacy Cabins.
Do I need cookware?
The Founder Cabins have some cookware, cups, plates, utensils, etc. What is up there is what has been left or donated by other guests.
If you are cooking a special meal and need a specific cookware item for it, we recommend bringing it just in case it is not in the cabin.
What if I forget something?
If you forget simple items like toiletries, towels, cookware or utensils, not to worry! Raton NM is the closest town 10 miles North of us. They have a grocery store, pharmacy, and Dollar General. The closest Walmart is in Trinidad Colorado about 25 miles North of the NRA Whittington Center.

What is the Smoking Policy?
All NRA Whittington Center Lodging, buildings, and facilities are non-smoking. Violators will be charged a $250 cleaning fee. During high fire risk periods, outdoor smoking outside of vehicles is not permitted, and no outdoor fires of any kind are allowed. These restrictions are mandated by New Mexico Statutes.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
Lodging and camping reservations may be cancelled by calling 1-800-494-4853 or 575-445-3615, at no penalty, up to 48 hours before start date; cancellations after this cutoff will be charged for the first night’s stay. Whittington U training course reservations must be cancelled 30 days prior to course start date in order to receive a refund.
Are there any Fire Danger restrictions?
All NRA Whittington Center Lodging, buildings, and facilities are designated non-smoking areas. During High Fire Danger periods there is no smoking allowing outside due to risk of fire. During High Fire Danger periods you man only smoke inside your vehicle or camper. BBQ grills are prohibited to be used inside any of these buildings as well as on the porches of the housing units. Typically speaking propane or gas grills are allowed on the porches of facilities. Please check with our Gate staff at the time of your stay for the most up-to-date information on any fire ban that might be currently in place.

Can I Shoot while I stay there?
Yes! We have many ranges to pick from including trap, skeet, 5-stand, sporting clays, rifle, pistol, archery and more!
Can I bring a 4-wheeler; ATV; UTV; OHV; Side-by-side; etc.?
Yes, you can bring a 4-wheeler; ATV; UTV; Side-by-side; etc. We do ask that you drive responsibly and follow the rules

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are an event shipping several boxes you must first contact the Program Department to make shipping and storage arrangements. Additional fees will apply for handling and storage of large quantities. Also, if you plan on shipping firearms are ammunition, please notify us so we can make proper storage arrangements.
