Make a contribution today and help keep the history of firearms alive for future generations to see.
Established in 2008, the mission of the Frank Brownell Museum of the Southwest is to restore and display the nation’s most important and historic firearms.
The Frank Brownell Museum of the Southwest has completed a $2.6 million expansion—the largest expansion of this landmark museum since it first opened in 2008. The project increased the size of the museum from 2,750 square feet to more than 7,000 square feet, added state-of-the-art exhibit space, included a restoration workshop, and expanded collections and educational programs.
Among the many highlights of the new museum are exhibits showcasing the history of this storied landscape—from the early nomadic Native Americans to more recent times, including the Spanish conquistadors, mountain men, the Santa Fe Trail, and the cowboy era. Visitors can also experience the museum’s impressive Gunquariums, measuring sixteen feet long by ten feet tall and displaying 200 long guns and 100 handguns.
Today, the museum educates the public about the firearms and heroes who helped protect our freedom, inspiring new generations to service, leadership, and an appreciation for our nation’s heritage.
